Hello and welcome! My name is Abigail Moncoeur. I'm a Florida Atlantic graduate and current MA Film and Media student attending Johns Hopkins—the nation’s 6th-ranked university. I’ve always believed that storytelling is more than just words on a page; it’s a way to explore, connect, and craft narratives that resonate with the human experience.

As a Haitian-American, my name, Moncœur, derives from the French language, translating to “my heart.” It’s a term of endearment that reflects how deeply personal and heartfelt my creative process is. From screenwriting to narrative designing, each project represents a piece of who I am.

My work centers on marginalized identities through diverse mediums, such as film, television, and video games.​ MC sits at the intersection of story and language. I write to be a voice for the voiceless. To represent the underrepresented people who look like me so that future generations can see themselves in characters on screen and feel proud.
